Principal's Message

Dear Decker Elementary School Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!

As we begin a new year together, I am filled with gratitude, excitement, and pride for all that our students, staff, and families accomplished last year. It is a privilege to serve this incredible community, and I look forward to another year of learning, growth, and success.

At Decker, every child is at the heart of what we do. We are committed to ensuring that every student feels known, valued, challenged, and supported.

This year, our schoolwide theme is:

This theme reflects our commitment to developing the whole child through strong relationships, high expectations, and meaningful learning experiences.

As educator Rita Pierson reminds us,

"Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them."

At Decker, we are proud to be champions for our students every day.

We know that strong connections help students thrive. To encourage relationship-building and a strong sense of community, students will not use Chromebooks before the start of the school day. Instead, we encourage them to spend this time reading, playing board games, and connecting with friends and staff. 

At Decker, we believe that when students feel connected, challenged, and supported, they truly shine. Together, we will help every Dolphin develop the skills, confidence, and character needed to achieve their goals and build a bright future.

Family partnerships are key to our success. Stay connected through ParentSquare, our website, and Instagram, and never hesitate to reach out. Together, we can help every child shine.

• August 11 – Pop on By to Say Hi! (2:00–3:00 p.m.)
  • August 12 – First Day of School
  • August 12 – Coffee with the Principal & Friends (8:30 a.m. in the library)
  • August 12–14 – Early Dismissal for Grades 1–6
  • August 12–September 11 – TK and Kindergarten Dismissal at 12:00 p.m.
